Charge it to the Game
Let's face it, budgets are what stop people from traveling. Money should not stop you from exploring the world. I'm going to tell you, when I travel it's usually off of airmiles that I've accumulated from business trips or credit cards incentives. BLACK PEOPLE let me pull you aside for a second and give you some information. We all know that credit cards are our 2nd bestfriend, next to lay-a-way of course. So, it makes sense for you to transfer your credit card(s) to one that will give you some incentives. In this case travel incentives. Citibank is one that offers American Airline miles to those that qualify. I know that most Airlines have their own cards available, but American Airlines is the example for the day. So back to it. Usually your first major purchase will award you about 25,000 miles, which is enough for a roundtrip continental US states trip, however the purpose of this blog is to get my people's out of the United States and surrounding islands. With that earned 25,000 miles you can probably pay for one leg of an international trip. That way all you would have to purchase is the return and hotel.
Let's Go Somewhere
Here an idea, let's go somewhere else besides Las Vegas and Jamaica. I know that these places are super fun, but do we have to keep going there? Take a pause and think about it. How many times can you pull the handle on a slot machine? Don't answer that question Daddy. How many times can you hear the word "irie"? Shabba keep your mouth closed. Honestly, what is it that keeps us locked in to this vacation spots? Comfort has to be it. I know! I know! A vacation should, make you feel comfortable and at ease. However, when taking trips, it is important to think of them in another light. Maybe, we should think of our trips as broadening out scope. Ok, take another pause to digest that.
So often we, and by we I mean African-American people put limitations on what we will eat, what we will believe, and where we will go. It always comes off as, 'well I don't want to see none of that stuff.' I know it really is that we are scared of what might happen, or just being uncomfortable. Uhhhhh this subject is boring me. Just go somewhere. You'll be enlightened by what you see. It won't be better, it will be different from Jamaica, and it will open your eyes to new and fresh adventures.
